FROM THE TECHNICIAN

// Symptom, not a repair order yet?

We narrow it down by phone.

Before we open anything up: often we can narrow down by phone what's broken and whether it's worth repairing — or not. 5–10 minutes on the phone usually saves a wrong replacement.

// REPAIR AREAS

What we
put back into service.

// FROM THE WORKSHOP

How we repair.
Four sentences, no fluff.

// 01

Component level, not assembly swap.

We don't reflexively replace the whole board. We find the failed capacitor, the cracked solder pad, the failed driver — and repair that. It's cheaper and more sustainable.

// 02

In-house test bench instead of manufacturer promises.

Every repair is measured under load, with a function report. You get numbers, not just “works again” — even when the manufacturer no longer tests the component at all.

// 03

We repair what manufacturers have given up on.

Heidenhain EPL controls from the '90s, discontinued Simodrive drives, MD operator panels with worn membrane keypads — for legacy and obsolete CNC electronics, if it still exists, we find a way.

// 04

We discuss economics upfront.

Some repairs no longer make sense — we say so honestly. Consultation is free, even when the answer is: a replacement or a used component makes more sense than repair.

// FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you repair Gildemeister lathes without manufacturer support?

Yes. We repair at component level in our own workshop — controls and boards, spindles, drives, hydraulics — even for long-discontinued models the manufacturer no longer services.

What does a Gildemeister repair cost?

No flat fees. Repair is diagnosis-driven for us: we only see the actual scope after a visual inspection on the test bench, and we discuss it with you before we start.

How does a repair with ESDI work?

Four steps: request, diagnosis on the test bench, quote, repair with a function report. Personally guided, with around 30 years of Gildemeister workshop experience — feedback within 24 hours on working days.

Do you repair on site or in the workshop?

Both are possible. For straightforward findings, shipping the component to our Herford workshop is usually faster and cheaper than an on-site visit — we clarify what makes more sense by phone.

Is it still worth repairing an old Gildemeister machine?

That depends on condition and remaining service life. We give you an honest answer on whether repair or a replacement machine is more economical — the consultation is free, even if the answer is against repairing.
