// Symptom Instead of Part Number?
"24V missing" is not a part — it's a clue.
Contactor hums, encoder reports a fault, reference point missing — with electrical and sensor problems the defect is rarely where the symptom shows up. Relay, cable, encoder or control?

What we often see
with electrical & sensor faults.
// 01 · Contactor or Fuse?
The Fuse Is Rarely to Blame.
If the control cabinet hums and the contactor won't engage, the contactor coil is usually the culprit, not the fuse. Simply swapping the fuse without a diagnosis often achieves nothing.
// 02 · Encoder Error Message
Cable First, Then Encoder.
"Reference point not found" can come from the encoder, the cable or the control. Check cables and connectors first — that often saves the expensive encoder replacement.
// 03 · 24V Missing
Power Supply or Just a Fuse?
Component class: fuses, 24V power supply, bridge rectifier. Simply swapping the fuse without a diagnosis often leads to follow-up damage to the power supply. More on this error code.
// 04 · Battery low NC
Back Up Before Replacing.
The backup battery on the main board is weak. Before any battery change, parameters and NC programs must be exported — otherwise you risk losing all of them. More on this error code.
// Frequently Asked Questions
Gildemeister Electrical & Sensors —
what workshop managers ask.
Which Gildemeister electrical and sensor parts does ESDI supply?
1,316 part numbers in two component groups: 794 electrical parts (relays, contactors, fuses, power supplies, fans) and 522 sensor parts (encoders, limit switches, proximity switches, cables). For CT, CTX, GDM, MD, TWIN and GMX.
What does the "24V missing" fault on the control mean?
The 24V supply for the PLC or the control has failed. Component class: fuses, 24V power supply or bridge rectifier. Every Gildemeister series is affected — CT, CTX, GDM, MD, TWIN, GMX.
What does "Battery low NC" mean on Heidenhain controls?
The NC backup battery on the main board is weak. It sounds harmless, but the next power cut can wipe out every parameter. Affected: Heidenhain EPL and EP controls, many CT/CTX/GDM.
What if the symptom cannot be pinned to one component?
Then guess-and-replace repair is not worth it. Our fault diagnosis measures signal, voltage and concentricity and links the symptom to the component — on site or narrowed down by phone.
