Sync axis drift, chuck synchronisation, twin-spindle faults — with Twin / MF Twin symptoms, diagnosis is a matter of listening, not of ordering parts. 5–10 minutes on the phone usually prevent the wrong replacement.

What usually goes wrong
on twin-spindle machines.
Axis synchronisation is the tricky part of the TWIN series.
When the main and sub spindle no longer run exactly in sync, the mechanics are rarely to blame. Usually it is the encoder, a cable or the drive control. We narrow it down by phone before we come out on site.
Two spindles = twice the bearing risk.
In TWIN machines both spindles are often loaded identically. If one has bearing damage, the other usually does too — we recommend measuring both together rather than reworking them one at a time.
Twin-turret drives are repairable.
Tool turret drives on the TWIN series (Sauter, Duplomatic) are often no longer available from the manufacturer as a complete exchange unit. We strip the drive down, replace bearings, coupling and encoder, and test it under load.
A full overhaul often pays off.
A TWIN is an expensive machine — a full overhaul is usually cheaper than a replacement. We discuss the effort involved and the residual value with you in person beforehand.
