Gildemeister GAC Repair
and Spare Parts.
The Gildemeister GAC range is an older lathe series that the OEM no longer officially supports. For a workshop manager running a GAC, that means: the machine has often worked reliably for 25+ years — but the moment a part fails, the search begins.
ESDI supplies Gildemeister GAC machines from 30 years of workshop archive. Spindle components, control boards, mechanical parts, hydraulics — whatever we don't hold in stock ourselves, we source through our supplier network. Complete repair services for the GAC range are available.
Unlike modern CTX models, GAC usually calls for diagnosis before ordering — the exact part number cannot always be derived from the nameplate. On the phone we narrow it down in 5-10 minutes.
// GAC Without a Nameplate?
On old GAC machines
we narrow it down by phone.
Send us a photo of the nameplate — or describe the symptom (axis won't move, control won't boot, spindle chatters). We identify the model and the likely part variant together with you.

What we often see
on GAC machines.
// 01 · Control
Eltropilot at End of Life.
Many GAC machines run Eltropilot controls from the 1990s. Electrolytic capacitors are the most common failure there — repair is almost always worthwhile.
// 02 · Spindle Bearings
30-Year-Old Bearings.
Main spindle bearings on GAC machines are often 30+ years old and have play. Replacing the bearings as part of a spindle overhaul usually pays off.
// 03 · Hydraulic Seals
Classic Wear.
Hydraulic seals on the clamping cylinder or tailstock turn brittle after 25 years — replacing them is standard maintenance, not damage.
// 04 · Cable Breaks
Intermittent Dropouts.
"Intermittent faults" on GAC machines often trace back to broken cables in the drag chains. We measure with an encoder simulator before we replace anything.
